This help document covers updating up the details for a learning object such as the learning object name and other descriptive information.

When editing a learning object, there are three steps. The learning object details are part of Step 1: Set Properties.

Learning Object Details

The Learning Object Details section is where you provide information about the learning object and set the learning object parameters.

*NOTE* The learning object type, sub-type and subject cannot be edited.

Fields you can edit under Learning Object Details include:

Name: Change the name of your learning object here.

Object Description: This is a free text field where you can update the descriptive information about the learning object you are editing.

Source: You can update the source of the objects you are using for your learning object.  There are three options available:

  • Proprietary
  • Open Education Resources (OER)
  • Other

Duration: Change the length of time you want associated with the learning object.

*NOTE*  When the learning object is included in a course, the time duration that is set here is used as part the pacing calculation. It is also used as the default time spent on the learning object when marking it as complete.

You will need to indicated whether your learning object is standard or optional next. See Learning Object Editor | Step 1: Change your learning object to standard or optional.

You can also complete additional optional fields to further describe the course you are creating after setting the learning object type. See: Learning Object Editor | Step 1: Updating instructional settings to your learning object for more information.
