This help document covers updating instructional settings to the learning object that you are creating. The fields under this section are optional. They provide additional descriptive information about the learning object. 


When updating a learning object, there are three steps. Selecting the Instructional Settings is part of Step 1: Set Properties.



Instructional Settings (Optional)


Click the down caret to expand the Instructional Settings section:



You can now see all associated fields:



These are optional fields that help you further define your learning object. You can complete as many of these optional fields as you would like. None of the fields are required.

 

*NOTE* If you save and share the learning object, these fields will provide additional details for other users as they evaluate using the learning object with their own class.  


Fields Available


Instructional Purpose: Multi-select field that allows you to specify the instructional type (For example, direct instruction or guided practice)


Instructional Strategies: Multi-select field that allows you to specify the learning object strategies (For example, close reading or graphic organizers)


Standards for Mathematical Practices: Multi-select field that allows you to specify the standards of mathematical practice covered by the learning object


Webb’s Depth of Knowledge: Multi-select field that allows you to specify DOK levels


Difficulty Level: Drop-down select that allows you to specify the difficulty of the learning object


Level of Engagement: Drop-down select that allows you to specify the engagement level


Instructional Emphasis: Drop-down select that allows you to specify the emphasis. Options include conceptual, procedural, and application.


Intended End User: Drop-down select that allows you to specify the RTI student tier level for the learning object.


Number of Questions: Numeric field that allows you to enter the number of questions on the assessment. **NOTE** This is descriptive information only that is searchable so will be helpful to users looking for a learning object with a specific number of questions.


Key words (descriptions for search purposes): Free text field where you can enter search terms for the assessment learning object. You can enter multiple terms. Separate each entry with a comma.


When done, click the Next button at the bottom of the screen to move on to Learning Object Editor | Step 2: Adding a standard set to be used with your learning object.
