This help document covers selecting the standards to associate with the learning object you are creating. Here you will identify your standard consortia, subject, and the course level or grade standards for the learning object.
When creating a new learning object, there are three steps. Selecting your the standard set is part of Step 2: Select Standards and Skills.
*NOTE* All courses in the Curriculum Engine are standard aligned. When adding learning objects to courses you can only add those learning objects that match the standards for the section of the course to which you are adding the tasks. It is important that you associate the appropriate standards and skills when creating your learning objects.
Select Standard Set
When you first get to Step 2, the bottom section Select the Standard Set will be displayed. This section needs to be completed first before you can Select Standards and Skills to associated with your learning object.
Fields under Select Standard Set include:
Standard Consortia: Select the standards used by your district from the drop-down menu. You should only see the standards that have been assigned to your district.
Subject: Select "Mathematics" from the drop-down menu.
Course/Grade Standards: Select the course associated with the learning object you are creating from the drop-down menu. You will see those courses assigned by your district that are associated with the standards selected under standard consortia.
Once you have entered these three fields, a Show Standards and Skills button will be activated:
Click the Show Standards and Skills button to select the standards you want to associate with the learning object. You cannot move on to the next step until you have selected at least one standard for your assessment learning object.
