This help document shows you how to add a lesson to your course. You can then add learning objects or custom resources to the lesson. 


When Building a New Course, you go through five steps. You are able to add lessons to your course under Step 4: Edit Course Content.


Add Lesson

 

When using lessons suggested by the Curriculum Engine, they will come pre-populated with lessons that contain learning objects that match the standards and skills you specified when you created the course. You can also add additional lessons to your course. 

 

For example, perhaps you want to add a review lesson to the end of the course that reinforces topics covered in the previous lessons.

 

  • To access the "Add Lesson" menu option, click the Add button at the top right of the lesson:

 

 

  • Select the "Add Lesson" option from the drop-down menu. 

 

 

  • The new lesson will be added to the bottom of your course.


 

  • You can enter the name for your lesson in the blank name field. In the example below, “Review Lesson” is the name.


 


Add Standards & Skills


Before you can add learning objects to your new lesson, you will need to associate the standards and skills you want covered by the lesson. Click the ellipsis menu to the right of the lesson and select "Edit Instructions".



This will bring up a window showing the available standards and skills for this course. Check those you would like to include in the lesson you are adding and click the Apply button at the top right.

Add Tasks


Once you’ve selected the standards and skills for this lesson, you will now be able to access the "Add LO" option.  You can add either learning objects or resources to your lesson. Learning objects are the tasks associated with that lesson, such as a warm-up or practice problems. Resources can be a document you upload or link to a website. 


Learning Object

Click the ellipsis menu and select "Add LO" to add Learning Objects to your lesson. See Course Builder | Step 4: Adding a learning object to a lesson for more information.  


Resources

Click the ellipsis menu and select the "Add Resource" option to add other materials to the lesson. See Course Builder | Step 4: Adding a resource to a lesson.
