This help document shows you how to add a learning object task to a lesson in your course.

When Building a New Course, you go through five steps. You are able to add learning object tasks to the lessons in your course under Step 4: Edit Course Content.

Add Learning Object

When using lessons suggested by the Curriculum Engine, they will come pre-populated with learning objects that match the standards and skills you specified when you created the course. You can add additional learning objects to a lesson as well.

To add a learning object:

  • Click the Ellipsis menu and select "Add LO"

  • This will bring up a window showing the additional learning objects in the Curriculum Engine that match the standards and skills for this lesson.

You will see two tabs:

  • One for Global Network LOs that come with the Curriculum Engine based on the courses that you purchased
  • One for District LOs which are created and shared by users in your district

The total number of  learning objects that match the criteria will be displayed in parenthesis. (In the example above, there are “2” Global Network LOs.)

If there are no learning objects that match, you can also create your own learning objects to use.

  • Click the down carrot to expand the view and see the learning objects available.

You can also use the filter, search, and sort options at the top of the screen to further drill into the list if there are a large number of learning objects that match the criteria. **NOTE** For information on navigating the screens in the Course Builder, please see Course Builder | Navigation Tips.

  • To view a learning object to determine if it is one that you want to add, click the learning object name.

  • Once you have decided which learning object you want to add, click the checkbox to the left of the LO to select it and then click the Add LO button at the top right.

You have now added a learning object to your lesson. You will see it as another task underneath the lesson.
