This help document shows you how to add a custom lesson to your course. You can then add learning objects or custom resources to the lesson.


When Building a New Course, you go through five steps. You are able to add custom lessons to your course under Step 4: Edit Course Content.

 

Add Custom Lesson

 

When using lessons suggested by the Curriculum Engine, they will come pre-populated with lessons that contain learning objects that match the standards and skills you specified when you created the course.  

 

You can also add custom lessons to your course. 

 

To access the "Add Lesson" menu option, click the Add button at the top right of the lesson:

 

 

Select the "Add Custom" option from the drop-down menu. 

 

 

The new lesson will be added to the bottom of your course.


 

You can enter the name for your lesson in the blank name field. In the example below, “Custom Lesson” is the name.


 

Add Materials to Custom Lesson


For Custom Lessons, you can add Learning Objects or Additional Resources. To access these two options, click the ellipsis menu:



ADD LO

Select Add LO to add Learning Objects to your custom lesson. You will be able top pick from any learning objects that match the standards associated with the course. See Course Builder | Step 4: Adding a learning object to a lesson for more information.

 

 

Add Resource

You can also add your own resources to the custom lesson. Resources can be a document you upload or link to a website.  Select Add Resource to add other resources to your custom lesson. See Course Builder | Step 4- Adding a resources to a lesson for more information.


 

 

In addition to adding learning objects, you can update and modify your lesson as you would the pre-populated lessons. See Course Builder | Step 4: How to customize your course lesson structure for more information on editing the lesson structure in your course.
