This help document covers associating additional standards to the learning object you are editing. Here you can add a new standard set by identifying your standard consortia, subject, and the course level or grade standards.

When editing a new learning object, there are three steps. Editing the standards and skills is part of Step 2: Select Standards and Skills.

*NOTE* All courses in the Curriculum Engine are standard aligned. When adding learning objects to courses you can only add those learning objects that match the standards for the section of the course to which you are adding the tasks. It is important that you associate the appropriate standards and skills when creating your learning objects.

Current Standards

The current standards associated with the learning object you are editing will be displayed at the top with the Select Standard Set at the bottom:

Select Standard Set

To add standards and skills to the learning object, you need to complete the standard set first.

Fields under Select Standard Set include:

Standard Consortia: Select the standards used by your district from the drop-down menu. You should only see the standards that have been assigned to your district.

Subject: Select "Mathematics" from the drop-down menu.

Course/Grade Standards: Select the course associated with the learning object you are editing from the drop-down menu. You will see those courses assigned by your district that are associated with the standards selected under standard consortia.

Once you have entered these three fields, a Show Standards and Skills button will be activated:

Click the Show Standards and Skills button to select the additional standards you want to associate with the learning object.

**NOTE** You cannot delete already associated standards and skills.
