This help document will show you how to edit an existing assignment in the Curriculum Engine.
Creating assignments for students is done under the Manage Course feature. Please see Classes | Manage Course overview for more information.
Open Assignments
Under the Course Plan and Progress Tracking heading, you’ll see a section for View & Create Assignments. To view, modify or create additional assignments, click the Start button located on the right.
This will open the View & Create Assignments window. Any assignments that have already been created will be listed on the left under Assignment Name.
To edit an assignment, click the Ellipsis Menu (the three vertical dots) under the Actions column on the right. This will open additional menu options. Click the Edit Menu Option.
Assignment Name
You can edit the assignment name by clicking in the name field and making any changes.
Learning Objects
You are now in edit mode for the assignment. You can scroll through the learning objects and make updates or changes to those in the assignment.
The learning objects that are included in the assignment will have a grayed check mark to the left of the task name. It will also say "Used in [the assignment name]" underneath the task name.
You can edit the parameters of learning objects already included in the assignment. See Manage Course | How to create an assignment for more information on the fields you can modify.
You can also add additional learning objects to the assignment by selecting the checkbox to the left of the task.
*NOTE* You cannot remove learning objects that are already included in the assignment. You will need to delete the assignment.
Add Students
When you are done updating your learning objects and setting their parameters, you can add additional students to the assignment.
You will need to scroll back to the top of the assignment window to go to this step. Under the Create Assignment bar, click on Step 2: Select Students.
The Curriculum Engine will bring up a list of the students in the class who have NOT YET been given the assignment. If all of the students in the class have been given the assignment, there will be no students available.
*NOTE* You cannot remove students who have already been given the assignment. In this case, you will need to delete the assignment and create a new one.
Save
Once you have updated the assignment, go to the top right of the Create Assignment bar and click the Save button to save the assignment.
*NOTE* There is also a Cancel button if you do not want to save the changes.
The Curriculum Engine will prompt you when the assignment has been updated successfully. Click the Ok button.
To return to Manage Course, you need to first exit the assignments screen. Click the Exit button at the top right.
