This help document outlines frequently asked questions about the Curriculum Engine.

Does the Curriculum Engine restrict access to other browsers? No, the Curriculum Engine does not have the functionality to restrict access to other browsers or websites. However, there are third-party applications that can be installed which provide this feature and can be used with the Curriculum Engine. One example is Lockdown Browser by Respondus.

How do I assign optional learning options to students? You assign optional learning objects to students under the Manage Course feature. For more information, please see: Manage Course | How to create an assignment.

How do I remove a course from a class? To remove a course, you need to unassign it from the class. Click into the class to open the class details, go down to the Courses tab, then click the ellipsis menu on the right of the course you want to remove. Select "Unassign."

Can you add Learning Object (LO) type to a lesson that is not select as a type in the lesson structure? No, when adding LOs to a lesson, the system will only add LOs that are selected as part of the lesson structure. For example, if instructional videos are not part of the lesson structure, when you go to add LOs to the lesson, no instructional videos will display as available to add. You would first need to select instructional videos as part of the lesson structure.  For more information, please see: Step 3: Select activities to include in each lesson

When a lesson is marked as done, can students still see the tasks? Yes, when marked as done, students will still see the task in their digital course materials. The task will be marked as "completed" on the left side but students can launch it by clicking on the "review" button. See image below:

If students exit and return to an online task in the Curriculum Engine, will their answers be saved?

The system does not save the answers on practice sets. It will save the answers on partially competed graded tasks.

For Learning Objects that are set to GRADED, when students launch the assignment:

1: They can save and exit the progress they have done so far.

2: They can only submit the assignment once.

3: After submitting the assignment, the score summary is displayed.

For Learning Objects that are set to PRACTICE, when students launch the assignment:

1: They can launch and do the task multiple times.

2: Every time the student launches the task, it would start from the beginning. They cannot save the progress done so far.

Can the grades in  the Curriculum Engine be passed to our grade book? Grade pass back is only applicable when Curriculum Engine courses are shared with third party Learning Management Systems (LMS) through LTI. No other automated grade transfer is available in the Curriculum Engine at present.
