Courses and Assignments

Depending on your filter options, there will be columns for the courses and assignments associated with the class. This overview display shows the average grade for the course and the tasks under the assignments.

If you click on the column heading, it will drill in and display the individual grades for that course or assignment.

Overall grade

The overall grade is the average of all scores for any graded course work and assignments. Graded items can include online assessments and interactive practice problems, but do not include any PDFs or items graded off-line. The overall score does include any item that has been completed, is in progress or has not been started. The score of an item that has not been completed will be reflected with a value of zero until it has been completed, at which point the grade will be used. In our product development pipeline, teachers will be able to choose what the overall score reflects.

Course grade

The course grade is the average of all scores for any graded course work (any standard LO that can be graded), this does not include optional LOs that were issued as an additional assignment. The overall score does include any item that has been completed, is in progress or has not been started. The score of an item that has not been completed will be reflected with a value of zero until it has been completed, at which point the grade will be used. In our product development pipeline, teachers will be able to choose what the overall score reflects.

To review the average grade of course work that has been allocated to students with a due date and issued as an assignment (see Manage Course | How to set due dates for learning object tasks) click into the course report by pressing on the course title in purple (see image below).

Once the course report is open, the overall grade reported will only include the course work that has been issued to students. This grade will account for only the the graded standard LOs within the course that has been issued as a due date.

Assignment grade

Each optional LO that was issued as an additional assignment will indicate the students grade based on the number of questions the student answered correctly.
