Modified on: Wed, Feb 24, 2021 at 3:18 PM
Below are the release notes for our software update that was released on February 11, 2021.
We've expanded the functionality of the Item Analysis Report by adding the Response Analysis tab. Teachers can now get detailed information on how students answered the individual items for that task providing more insight into student performance. |
Teachers can now set retake parameters for online tasks including graded assignments. Previously, tasks set to graded could not be retaken by students. The retake option is now a user-defined setting under the "Specify Additional Properties" section of that learning object. By default, practice learning objects will have "reattempts" checked with a maximum attempts of "2" and graded ones will have "reattempts" unchecked. Users can now modify this setting as needed allowing students to retake graded assignments. |
When assigning a course to a class, users can now specify the end date for the course. This is the last date the course will be available to students. Previously, the end date was determined by the pacing settings. The last lesson date will still be calculated using the pacing information but users can specify any end date for the course. The system will default the date to June 30th of the following year. For example, if assigning the course on August 15, 2021, the end date would default to June 30, 2022. |
Copy Assignment to Available Students |
When copying an assignment, the student listing column of the available classes to which you can copy the assignment is now a clickable link. You can click to view the students who would be given that assignment if you copy it to that class. |
Interactive Practice ProblemsUpdated from Optional to Standard Learning Objects |
All of the online Interactive Practice Problems (IPP) on the Curriculum Engine have been updated from optional learning objects to standard. Teachers no longer need to assign IPP to students in order for them to access the tasks. Students will automatically have access to the IPP once the course has been assigned to them. Additional updates related to this change include: - The default duration for IPP has been removed. This impacts IPP in newly assigned courses. Previously assigned courses may still have a duration set but users can modify and update this setting as needed.
- You can now save updates to duration and other additional properties to your other classes that have been assigned the same course and version.

Running Item Analysis Report for IPP |
Now that IPP are standard and not optional, when running the Item Analysis Report to get grade results, the "Additional Assignment" field can be left blank and the IPP can be selected in the Learning Object drop down field. |
With the change of IPP from optional to standard, there are some impacts to the student view that we wanted to outline: - Online IPP are automatically displayed within the course hierarchy. Students can click View Details to see their full digital course materials including these IPP tasks.
- All IPP share the same “assigned-on” date, which is the date the course was assigned to the class. To avoid confusion, the “assigned-on” date column has been removed from the assignment tab in the student view.
- IPP are not displayed on the assignments tab unless a due date has been added.
