This help document reviews the behavior of online learning objects that are set to either graded or practice in the Curriculum Engine.
For technology-enhanced, online items that have grades, you can specify whether you want the learning object to be graded or set to practice. These online tasks can be both standard and optional learning objects. If optional, they need to be assigned to students before students will have access. If standard, you can update the graded setting under Manage course.
For more information see:

Type
The graded/practice setting is found next to the heading "Type" and to the right of the "Include in Progress Report" checkbox of the learning object details.
For Interactive Practice Problems, the "Practice" option is selected by default, but you can change it to "Graded" by clicking on that option.
**NOTE** This setting can only be changed if NO students have attempted the task yet.
The behavior of the learning object will vary depending on this setting.
For Learning Objects that are set to PRACTICE, students:
- Can launch and complete the task multiple times. NOTE: This is the default setting, but you can update this if you want to limit the number of attempts available to students.
- Can check their item answers up to two times per question.
For Learning Objects that are set to GRADED, students:
- Can only submit the assignment once. NOTE: This is the default setting, but you can update this if you want to allow students the option to retake graded assignments.
- Cannot check their answers when completing the assignment.
Whether a task is set to graded or practice, grade results are available to the teacher.
- Student grade results for tasks set to practice will be available in the Item Analysis Report.
- Student grade results to tasks set to graded will be available in the Gradebook Report.
