This help document shows you how to specify the type of learning object you are creating.
When creating a new learning object, there are three steps. Selecting the type of learning object is part of Step 3: Upload/Link LO.
Specify Learning Object Type
Before you can add content to your learning object, you must first select the learning object type that you are creating.
Click the drop down to select the type of learning object:
You can select the following types:
Document: You can upload a PDF or other document type to the learning object. *NOTE* If possible, we recommend you upload a PDF as it opens natively within the Curriculum Engine. Other document types can be used, but students will need to download them from the Curriculum Engine to access them.
Desmos: You can enter the desmos link into the learning object.
GeoGebra: You can enter the GeoGebra link into the learning object.
HTML5 Interactives: You can upload an HTML5 zip file. The zip file must contain the index.html file in the root directory.
Learnosity: You can link directly to a Learnosity activity by adding the activity ID.
Video: You can either upload or link to a video in the learning object. The video can be an OER or something you or the district has created. *NOTE* If you upload the video, it will open natively within the Curriculum Engine. If you link to the video, it will open as a pop up in another window.
Link (URL): You can link to a website or URL for the learning object.
Online Assessment / Worksheet: With this options, you can create an online assessment or worksheet using the questions in the Curriculum Engine item bank. If you select this learning object type, the Add button will become available. See Assessment Builder: Adding questions to your online assessment for more information on next steps with this type of learning object.
Text: You can enter text directly into a learning object.
Once you have selected the learning object type and entered your content either via upload or link, you are ready to save or publish your learning object. See Learning Object Builder | Step 3: Saving or publishing your learning object for more information.
