This help document shows you how to edit the teaching schedule for an assigned course in the Curriculum Engine. When editing the teaching schedule you can update things such as pacing, start and end date of courses, and days the course meets.
When you assign a course to a class you set the teaching schedule at that time, but you can edit the teaching schedule for an existing assigned course too.
Access Assigned Course
Go to Users --> Classes
This will bring up a list of your current classes. Go to the class for which you want to edit a course teaching schedule and click into the class name:
Once into the class, scroll down to the courses section and click on the ellipsis menu:
This will bring up the additional menu options, where you can select the Edit Teaching Schedule:
Editing Teaching Schedule
The current teaching schedule will be displayed. You can update the pacing setting that you want to use by entering the following:
(1) Duration of a Period: Enter the length of your class periods.
(2) Days of the Week: Select the days of the week that your class meets. If you wish to have assignments due on days when your class does NOT meet, select those days of the week.
(3) Start Date: Enter the date that the class starts. NOTE: You cannot enter a date earlier than the date that you are assigning the course, so if the class is already started, you will need to default to the current date.
End Date: This field will be calculated automatically once you hit the Apply button. The end date indicates the last day that the course will be accessible to your students. You can also enter a specific end date that matches your last day of instruction.
Lesson View
Once you click the Apply button, a calendar will open up displaying the scheduled lessons in the Curriculum Engine so that you can do a review.
Review Lessons
Click the top right of a calendar entry to open details on that lesson including the associated learning objects:
You can specify whether a Learning Object is “Classwork” or “Homework” by using the drop-down selection under the Type column.
Click the bottom right of a calendar entry to change the timing of the lesson:
You can specify whether you are updating just that lesson, or if you want to rest of the schedule to change, too. Just check “Move rest of the schedule” to change all of the lessons, or leave unchecked to only change that one lesson.
Once you are done editing this step, the Save button at the top right to save your changes.
You will receive a prompt that your teaching schedule has been saved successfully:
