Gradebook

The gradebook will open with the summary bar at the top and individual assignments listed below:

Summary Bar Details:

The Overall Score is the average of all scores for any graded course work and assignments. Graded items can include tasks such as online assessments and interactive practice problems, but do not include any PDFs or items graded off-line. Any tasks that have not yet been completed and do not have a score will be included in the overall score with a value of zero until they have been completed, at which point the actual grade will be used.

The Total Study Material field is the count of how many additional assignments have been assigned to the student, along with how many courses have standard graded learning objects with due dates set. An additional assignment may have more than one graded learning object associated with it, but each assignment is counted as one in the total study materials. In the image above, the Additional Assignment "MULTI Graded One Assignment" includes two graded learning objects, but is showing in the gradebook as one set of study material. The "Standard Graded LO CCSS Algebra 1" course is the second set of study material.

The Courses count will include any course(s) that have at least one gradable standard learning object that has been given a due date. Again, graded items include tasks such as online assessments and interactive practice problems, but do not include any PDFs or items graded off-line. If there is more than one standard graded learning object with a due date in the course, the course will only be counted once. The gradebook summary does not count each individual graded learning object.

The Additional Assignments count will include the total count for any additional assignments given to the student. Again, an additional assignment may have more than one graded learning object associated with it, but each assignment is counted as one.

Task Status Fields:

  • The Completed count shows how many items have been completed by the student and corresponds to the status column.
  • The In Progress count shows how many items the student has started but not yet completed and corresponds to the status column.
  • The Not Taken count shows how many items the student has not yet started and corresponds to the status column.
