This help document will show you how to preview a course in the Curriculum Engine.


Course Manager

 

To preview a course, go to the Content menu at the top right of the screen and select the Course Manager option to open the course manager window. 

 

You will see two tabs: 

  • Courses assigned to me: These are the courses that have been assigned to you by the district.
  • Courses created by me: These are courses that you have created.


Preview Course


Click on the course name to open the course in preview mode:  





Navigation


Arrows: You can navigate through the course with the forward and back arrows located at the top right of the screen:



Hyperlinks: You can click on the hierarchy title links displayed at the top of the document you are viewing to jump to that document.



Table of Contents


Click on the hamburger icon (the three horizontal lines) at the top left of the window to open the Table of Contents for the course:

Expanding Sections

a. For any item with a right arrow, click on the item name to expand that section:



b. For any item with a plus or minus icon, click the icon to expand or contract that section:



View: Click on a learning object name or task in the Table of Contents to open it. When you open a learning object, the Table of Contents will auto-collapse. To re-open it, click the hamburger icon again. 


Details: You can hover over an item to see a pop-up display with the full name of that task:



Close: You can also close the Table of Contents by clicking the "X" at the top right of the view.



Additional Preview Features


In addition to the view options available when previewing a course, you can also do the following tasks:


  • Rotate the document view
  • Download a PDF of the document
  • Print the document
  • Change Viewing Options:
    • Zoom In or Out
    • Fit to Screen
    • Full Screen Mode


All of these features are found on the right side. The rotate, download, and print icons are at the top right, and the viewing icons are at the bottom right. If you are previewing an interactive or technology-enhanced item, you will not have access to these features.


**NOTE** The icons may not be visible until you hover over that section of the screen.



Exit


To exit preview mode, click the Exit Preview button at the top right.
