This help document provides an overview of how you can filter your search results in the learning object repository to find items aligned to specific standards and skills.
Filter Results
To view the learning objects, go to the Content menu at the top right of the screen and select the Learning Object Manager option to open the learning object repository.
- Click the Filter button located on the top left and then click Standards and Skills.
- This will bring up a window where you can select your standard set, and then click Show Standards and Skills.
This will result in a list of all of the standards and skills associated with that standard set.
Select Standards
To select a standard or skill to include in your learning object search, click the checkbox to the left of the standard.
For example, in the image below, the [S-ID.B] standard is checked, which selects all standards at that level and any standards and skills in the subcategories below it.
Select Skills
You can get even more granular with your search by removing skills that you don’t need covered by the learning object.
Skills shown in a purple bubble are included, while skills shown in a white bubble are not.
= Selected Skill: Included in the course | |
= Unselected Skill: NOT included in the course |
To remove a skill, click on any of the highlighted skills and the learning object manager will deselect them. In the image below, “exponential” and “other” have been deselected.
*NOTE* If the same skill is removed from one standard but not another standard that has been chosen, that particular skill will remain included in the filtered results. To remove a skill, you must remove it from all standards that have been chose
Select Standards and Skills from Another Course
In addition to selecting standards and skills from the course you have specified in the standard set, you can also select standards from other courses to include in the search results.
Below is an image of standards selected from the first standard set selected:
From the drop-down selection under “Course/Grade Standards”, choose another course from which you would like to include standards. After selecting the course, click the Show Standards and Skills button to display the standards for the newly selected course.
You can now see and select additional standards to include in your search results.
The standards you selected from the original course will not be lost. The Curriculum Engine will remember the selected standards from both courses and filter your learning object search results accordingly.
Once you have selected the standards and skills by which you want to filter your results, click the Apply button at the top right.
