This help document shows you how you add an associated learning object such as an answer key to your online assessment/practice.

When creating a new assessment or interactive practice problem learning object, there are three steps. After completing all three steps and publishing your learning object, you have the option of creating an associated learning object for it.

After clicking the Publish button, you will be prompted that the assessment/practice has been published. You will then be asked if you want to create an associated LO.

Create Associated LO(s)

Click the Yes button to create an associated LO. The associated LOs window will open. Click the Plus (+) icon to add a new learning object.

The learning object creator window will open. See Assessment Builder | How to create an online assessment/practice for help documentation on each step in the process.

**NOTE** As you are creating an associated learning object such as an answer key for the assessment/practice that you created, you will want to answer the learning object questions/prompts accordingly.

Key Points

If you are creating an answer key for your assessment learning object:

  • You can select "Assessment Answer Key" as the type in Step 1.
  • The standards and skills from the original learning object will already be displayed under Step 2.
  • You can upload a document, or a link to a URL in Step 3. You can upload an answer key, or other materials such as a link to additional resources in support of the assessment.

When finished, click the Publish button. You will be prompted that the associated learning object has been saved.

Add or View Associated Learning Objects

From the assessment learning object, click the ellipsis menu then select "Manage Associated LO(s)":

The Curriculum Engine will display all associated learning objects for the assessment, including the one you created if you selected yes when prompted at the end of creating the primary assessment learning object.  From here, you can edit existing associated learning objects, or add additional associated learning objects by clicking the Plus (+) icon.
