This help document shows you how to add questions to the online assessment/practice that you are creating.
When creating a new online learning object, there are three steps. Selecting questions for your assessment is part of Step 3: Upload/Link LO.
Building Your Assessment/Practice
After specifying your learning object type as an online assessment/worksheet, you can now add questions to your assessment/practice. When clicking the Add button, you will have two options:
- Sections allows you to group questions.
- Items brings you to the Item Library where you can select one or more questions to include in your assessment/practice. The items displayed will be based on the standards and skills you indicated in the prior step.
Adding Sections
From the Add button, select "Add Section":
Enter the name of the section, and then click the Add Item button to begin adding questions under that section:
Adding Items
Whether you are adding items under a section, or directly to the assessment, once you click Add Item, the Curriculum Engine will bring up all available items that match the criteria you have specified in the previous steps.
The initial item library display may include hundreds of potential items making it difficult to find the specific questions you want to include in the assessment/practice.
To simplify the results, you can drill into the data to narrow down your search. See Assessment Builder | Step 3: How to narrow down the results in the item library for more information.
Select Questions for Your Assessment
Once you have determined which questions you want to include, check the box on the left of those item(s) and click the Add Item(s) button located at the top right.
**NOTE** To preview the question, click on the item name.
Key Points
- If you are creating an online assessment, be sure to select objects that are designed for online. For example, you can search by the “Assessment” tag in the “Find by Tags” field to narrow the results.
- If you are creating an online interactive practice problem, be sure to select objects that have the check answer button enabled. You should search by the “Worksheet” tag in the “Find by Tags” field to narrow the results.
Next Steps
Once you have added questions to your assessment/practice, you can do a final review. See Assessment Builder | Reviewing the assessment/practice that you have created for more information.
