This help document shows you how you can select standards and skills associated with a different course from the one specified in your standard set. These additional standards can be included in the assessment you are building. This option is useful if you want to choose instructional objectives from several courses.
When creating a new assessment learning object, there are three steps. Selecting standards and skills from another course is part of Step 2: Select Standards and Skills.
**NOTE** You cannot access this section until you have completed the "Select the Standard Set" section first.
Select Standards and Skills from Another Course
In addition to selecting standards and skills from the course you have specified, you are able to select standards from other courses to include in the assessment learning object that you are building.
Below is an image of standards selected from the course/grade standards assigned to the course you are building:
From the drop-down selection under “Course/Grade Standards”, choose another course from which you would like to include standards. After selecting the course, click the Show Standards and Skills button to display the standards for the newly selected course.
You can now see and select additional standards to include in your assessment.
The standards you selected from the original course will not be lost. The Curriculum Engine will remember the selected standards from both courses.
See Assessment Builder | Step 2: How to select specific standards and skills for your course for more information on selecting standards for your course.
Next Steps
When finished selecting the standards and skills you want included in your course, click the Next button at the bottom of the screen to move on to Assessment Builder | Step 3: Selecting the type of assessment you are creating.
