This help document covers adding instructional settings to the assessment learning object that you are creating. The fields under this section are optional. They provide additional descriptive information about the assessment that you are building.
When creating a new assessment learning object, there are three steps. Selecting the Instructional Settings is part of Step 1: Set Properties.
Instructional Settings (Optional)
Click the down caret to expand the Instructional Settings section:
You can now see all associated fields:
These are optional fields that help you further define your assessment. You can complete as many of these optional fields as you would like. None of the fields are required.
If you save and share the assessment learning object, these fields will provide additional details for other users as they evaluate using the assessment in their own class.
Fields Available
Instructional Purpose: Multi-select field that allows you to specify the type of Learning Object (For example, summative assessment)
Instructional Strategies: Multi-select field that allows you to specify the assessment strategies
Standards for Mathematical Practices: Multi-select field that allows you to specify practice standards for your assessment
Webb’s Depth of Knowledge: Multi-select field that allows you to specify DOK levels
Difficulty Level: Drop-down select that allows you to specify the difficulty of the assessment
Level of Engagement: Drop-down select that allows you to specify the engagement level
Instructional Emphasis: Drop-down select that allows you to specify the emphasis. Options include conceptual, procedural, and application.
Intended End User: Drop-down select that allows you to specify the RTI student tier level for the assessment.
Number of Questions: Numeric field that allows you to enter the number of questions on the assessment. **NOTE** This will not restrict the number of questions you can add to your assessment. It is searchable information that will be helpful to users looking for an assessment with a specific number of questions.
Key words (descriptions for search purposes): Free text field where you can enter search terms for the assessment learning object. You can enter multiple terms. Separate each entry with a comma.
When done, click the Next button at the bottom of the screen to move on to Assessment Builder | Step 2: Select the standard set to be used with your assessment learning object.
